Beauty in Benches — Chesterfield Beautification Committee provides benches, from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch (Sunday, January 9, 2011). “The Chesterfield Beautification Committee recently gave three iron benches to the city for placement close to bus stops along Chesterfield Parkway… The group’s intentions were to create a colorful and functional art piece in three locations to help bring awareness of outdoor sculpture to the city, help bus patrons by providing resting places and establish a precedent for future outdoor artwork that serves Chesterfield citizens. The benches were fabricated by Trellis Art Designs… using a new design called ‘Leaves.’ The benches were painted in bright colors — lime green, robin’s-egg blue and sunshine yellow — using automotive paint for endurance and low maintenance.”
